How We Support Responsible Events

At The Form Rooms, sustainability is built into how our venue operates and how events are delivered. We focus on practical actions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining a high-quality event experience within a listed building.

We work closely with event organisers, suppliers, and attendees to make sustainable choices simple and achievable.

Getting Here Sustainably & Inclusive Access

The Form Rooms is located just five minutes from three London Underground stations. We encourage organisers to share public transport guidance with delegates and to prioritise walking, cycling, and public transport wherever possible.

Our venue is fully accessible, with:

  • Step-free access to all meeting rooms.
  • Lift access to all floors.
  • Accessible toilets.
  • Hearing loop systems.
  • Dimmable lighting.

Inclusive design is a key part of sustainable event delivery, ensuring all attendees can participate comfortably and safely.

Energy – Efficient Event Spaces

  • Many meeting rooms benefit from natural daylight.
  • LED lighting is used throughout the venue.
  • Motion sensors and automatic cut-outs are installed where appropriate.
  • Each meeting room has individual heating controls.
  • Heating, lighting, and AV systems are switched off when rooms are not in use.

These measures allow us to operate efficiently while respecting the constraints of a historic building.

Preventing Food & Material Waste

We prioritise waste prevention across all events:

  • Food waste is reduced through accurate planning and portion control. Event organisers are advised to order catering for 15–20% fewer guests than the initial expected attendance to allow for cancellations, and we support clients in managing any leftover food by donating it to staff, attendees, or via food-sharing apps.
  • Coffee grounds are collected separately in dedicated bins and used for composting.
  • A digital-first approach is encouraged to minimise paper use.
  • Digital whiteboards are available free of charge in meeting rooms to reduce reliance on flipcharts.
  • Flipcharts, pads, and pens are provided only on request.
  • All stationery supplied is made from recycled materials.

These steps help minimise waste while maintaining a high-quality experience for guests.

Sustainable Catering

All catering at The Form Rooms meets defined sustainability standards:

  • Catering partners hold the highest Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) rating.
  • Around 75% of menus are vegetarian by default.
  • Meat and poultry are free-range.
  • Fish is sustainably sourced.
  • Ingredients are sourced locally to reduce transport-related emissions.
  • Packaging is minimised and recyclable.

Single-Use Reduction

  • Water is served in reusable jugs, eliminating single-use bottles.
  • Reusable cups and bottles are provided wherever practicable.
  • Where single-use items are unavoidable, recyclable alternatives are used.

Supporting Sustainable Event Planning

Our events team supports organisers by:

  • Advising on digital alternatives to printed materials.
  • Supporting accurate attendance forecasting to reduce food waste.
  • Offering guidance on sustainable room layouts and event set-ups.
  • Encouraging suppliers to align with the venue’s sustainability practices.

Our Commitment

At The Form Rooms, sustainability is not an add-on. It is embedded in how we operate the venue and deliver events—supporting well-planned, inclusive, and environmentally responsible events without compromising on quality or experience.
